Cityfarm Community Garden Program

The recent amalgamation with the Community Garden Network brings the Community Garden program to our organization. In general, the program provides support through all phases of new garden development such as: leadership, site design and construction, membership, communications, and on-going maintenance. It also makes available up to $5000 in grants for new garden construction. As well, the Community Garden program shares horticultural expertise, offers garden management strategies, matches volunteer expertise with garden needs, etc.

Until we complete our new website to reflect the recent changes to our organization, we ask that you go to www.edmcommunitygardens.org for information about community gardening in Edmonton; the grant program and other program services for the interim.

Cityfarm Little Green Thumbs Program

The Little Green Thumbs program is a powerful tool to engage children in learning and caring about the plants and the environment that sustain us. The program provides schools and after school agencies with indoor garden equipment and support such as classroom mentors, technical and horticultural advice and program resources.

Cityfarm Adventure Programs in Neighborhoods Where Families Live

The Cityfarm Adventure program was developed to engage people, in particular our young people to
   - connect with the growing and harvesting of their food and hence a rural
      farm experience
   - connect with nature
   - engage in recreational activities in an adventurous way, and
   - participate in community democracy and transformation
Currently, in partnership with the City of Edmonton, our efforts are focused on helping Edmonton communities start up Cityfarm Adventure Centres in Edmonton neighborhoods. For more information about how to start a Cityfarm in your neighborhood, please contact us.
