Program Details
The Cityfarm Little Green Thumbs Program consists of all necessary indoor gardening materials and supporting programs,
delivered by a Cityfarm program coordinator. Before the start of the program, teachers/leaders will be invited to an
information session. After a short overview of the program, you will have a chance to ask questions and see the grow
light and some of the garden components. At the information session, you will also receive a program handbook. Once
the garden kit has arrived, the program coordinator will help you with the garden installation in your building and
start some seeds with the children/youth (max. 30). A month later, it’s time for a transplanting session with your
group. The program also includes phone or e-mail support and a short garden consultation, if needed.
Program Location
This program is available in schools and child/youth service agencies in Edmonton. Please contact us by phone or
e-mail about program availability in other areas of the province.

Program Schedule and Application
Applications are accepted any time. However to be considered for the current school term, applications must be received before
September 10. The information session will be held in October. The indoor garden will be set up and seeds are planted in January, followed by the transplanting
session in early February. Your indoor garden can be maintained until the end of the school year. In subsequent years, you may
choose to start the garden in October or January. Replacement materials (soil bags, seeds, etc.) can be ordered at replacement
cost through Cityfarm.
